With only a handful of agenda items to consider, Tuesday’s Brady Council meeting was a fairly quick one. On the question of accepting the bids for the animal control facility and pickleball courts, Council voted 4-0 to reject both bids on the advice of staff who determined the bids received were considerably over budget. Another item approved by Council was the interlocal agreement between the City and McCulloch County to provide EMS services for the amount of $236,600 for FY 2027. The agreement will need approval by Commissioners Court before it can go into effect.
Other agenda items considered and approved included Resolution 2026-05 to amend the City’s purchasing policy, allowing the City to dispose of surplus equipment no longer needed via the Public Service online auction (www.publicsurplus.com), financing the purchase of a 2026 GMC Canyon truck for $36,085.50 through Government Capital Corporation and a lease-purchase agreement with Caterpillar Financial Services Corporation in the amount of $572,170.60. No Executive Session was needed following the regular meeting.
The next regular Brady City Council meeting will be on June 2, 2026.
NOTE – Council Member Raymond Ledezma was unable to attend tonight’s meeting.
